REMINDER: Accommodation Request Forms must be received by TEA at least one week prior to testing. Requests received by TEA after the deadline will NOT be processed. With few exceptions, requests for the July 9–13, 2012, test administrations and window will no longer be processed after Monday, July 2, at 5:00 p.m. CST. Districts will still be able to submit requests for unschooled ELL asylees/refugees, newly enrolled students, medical emergencies, or updated ARD decisions.

TELPAS submission deadline is one week before the planned test administration at 5:00 PM CST

Requests for paper administrations of TELPAS reading tests should be submitted to ell.tests@tea.state.tx.us.
See the 2011-2012 District and Campus Coordinator Manual for more information on requesting paper administrations of TELPAS.

The accommodation request process utilizes e-mail to submit, confirm, and approve/deny requests for Type 3 accommodations for individual students taking STAAR, STAAR Spanish, STAAR Modified, STAAR L, and TELPAS and for accommodations requests for individual students taking TAKS, TAKS (Accommodated), and TAKS–M. However, refer to the 2010-2011 Accommodations Manual for policies related to TAKS accommodations.

Once a TEA decision has been made, the decision is valid until December 31, 2012. Do not submit an accommodation request for a retest UNLESS it is a new request or there has been a change to the student`s accommodation needs.

If any questions arise during the submission process, the district testing coordinator should contact the TEA Student Assessment Division at 512-463-9536 and ask to speak with a member of the Accommodations Task Force.

Do not include confidential student information (e.g., first and last names, PEIMS numbers, social security numbers) in your documentation, as this is a violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
